Buang EBM!?

2, 3 minggu terkebelakangan(pls excuse my poor grammar) ini sugguh sibuk utk myself and the whole family. Gara-gara berpindah barang. Ke rumah my pil. Kemas barang, pilih barang, buang barang, tinggal barang, simpan barang, angkut barang~ waaaah... sungguh meletihkan! Mmg worth it ku ambil cuti seminggu utk semua2 tu. Syifa' and Suhaib, post ke rumah TokWa. If nottt, my big boy Suhaib pun sama naik sibuk sekali dgn barang2 tu. Silap2 haribulan mummy dia bubuh dlm kotak, seal! He he he.. Syifa' pulak tentu pantang nampak ummi dia-nak berkepitt.

Another one week to kerja. Lepas ni, chottti panjanglah saye. 3 tahun di Southampton. Nak buat ape yek?... *Ding dong**** xde income, xleh shopping maut. Oh nooooo.....

But i think being a fulltime (cewah, cam fulltime, part time lak, ahaks!) housewife, bukan sempat nak lepak pon kann?? Kesana kemari dgn anak2, agak2nya baju pun xsempat kering. (p/s: bukan baju yg dibasuh xsempat kering ok.. baju yg dipakai, basah dek membasuh itu ini, memasak, berkejar dgn anak2 dan etc2... dgn bila pulak nak mangajar anak2, nak menyanyilah, nak menarilah-nak entertain diorang punya pasal...)
Betul x kawan2???... (betul 3x).

Wah, kena kuatkan mental dan physical nih... *Teringat... mcm manalah ibuku yang merupakan surirumah sepenuh masa mengharungi waktu2 sukar membesarkan kami 5 beradik. Yg mana masing2 masih nangoi2 (jgn tanyaku bahase apa ni... sesedap rasa ku je nih ;P). Tentu sungguh jenoh kan, nak buat semua benda sorang diri, dgn anak2 yg pelbagai ragam dan macam.*

"Mak.... terima kasih mak.... besarkan adik (ups! pecah rahsia) dgn sugguh bersusah payah.." *Sob sob sob..*

Balik pada cerita buang EBM! Kerana nak membekalkan Syifa' dgn susuibu yg fresh, the whole period of exclusive breastfeeding tu, i never rotate the daily supply with the frozen milk. Semuanya pun dah/nak expired sbb ku xpernah guna.. sayang... tp nak buat mcm mana... nak sedekah? macam mana? bila? siapa nak? oh... sungguh xda info dan xcukup masa nak study(sampai kene study kerr?) pasai tu...

Harap2, jgnlah ditarik balik rezeki utk anak ku.. Sbb ibunya buang habis susu2 badan tu...

How to control the ROACHES! Eww......

I received a helpful email from a friend, Adnin, about the nasty roaches. Thanks Adnin for the info!

Tips menghapuskan LIPAS!

Saye?? Mmg pantang kalau nampak sekor lipas merayap dlm rumah. Mesti nak kerjakan sampai dapat! Tp kalau nak masuk dlm dapur/toilet yg penuh dgn beberapa ekor lipas,,,, mmg kecut perut terus patah balik, sanggup CANCEL niat!
(Suhaib: *confius* "Kan Ummi ckp takut hanya pada Allah...")
Eeeeeeew geliiiiiiiiiiii... Bkn takut OK..... =)

Baby Solid Food

Another 10 days Syifa will start to enjoy her 1st meal. So I am now figuring out what kind of solid foods adequate for her.

So mummy got to refresh back all points of relevant.

Then start my gooogling activity.. It is so many info to remind me back about exclusive breastfeeding and baby's solid foods. In the mean time, I did blog-hopping. I am so grateful that I found a summarized info from one of the blogger, Nadiah Sidek ( find out about her- very good writing of her!- thank you Nadiah :)).

For the sake of my memory, sharing, and delivering, I copy-paste from Nadiah (Mohon permisi awak yer Nadiah... :)).

Here's are the info:

Proper feeding is of utmost importance in preventing allergies.

  1. Exclusive breast feeding for the first 6 months provides the ideal protection.
  2. Weaning foods should not be given too early (Solid foods should be introduced at 6 months).
  3. Avoid strongly allergenic food for the first year.
  4. Add only one new food per week so that food that is not well-tolerated can be recognised and removed.

Foods which are least likely to cause allergic reactions (to be introduced from 6 months):
rice, pear, prune, carrot, apple

Foods which are usually well tolerated, but occationally cause allergic reactions (to be introduced from 6 months):
barley, apricot, beef, wheat, plum, spinach, cabbage, oat, banana, chicken, peach, broccoli, lamb, turnip, potato, cherry, corn

Foods which are most likely to cause allergic reactions (to be introduced from 9 months):
berries, egg yolk, legumes, fish

Foods which are highly allergenic (to be introduced from 12 months):
seafood, peanuts, egg white

Thank you very much Nadiah!

Hmmm.... mcm menarik je baby food containers ni yek....

Ummm........ Waaaaaaaahh... Dig it! 2x
;p

Canker Sore

Tensi…. Tensi.. minggu ni saya merana dek canker sore. Aphthous ulcer. In Malay, ‘mulut pecah’. Huh, pedihnya sungguh berdengung! Sampai tak termampu nak buka mulut utk jampikan si Suhaib yang menigau-nigau pukul 4 pagi kelmarin.

Some info about canker sore (just like Dr Faizah had told me- I really admire her..):

What causes canker sores?

Factors that appear to provoke them include stress, fatigue, illness, injury from accidental biting, hormonal changes, menstruation, sudden weight loss, food allergies and deficiencies in vitamin B12 (B complex), iron and folic acid (Patutlah. Minggu ni asyik sakit kepala gilerr!)

Addition. Ulcers also can be caused by bug bites and animal bites (Mcm mana ini boleh berlaku?? Takutnyerrrr….)

What steps can be taken to help canker sores?

  1. Avoid abrasive foods such as potato chips that can stick in the cheek or gum and aggravate the sores.
  2. Take care when brushing your teeth not to stab the gums or cheek with a toothbrush bristle.
  3. Avoid acidic and spicy foods.
  4. Canker sores are not infectious, so patients do not have to worry about spreading them to other people.
  5. Use a toothpaste free of sodium lauryl sulfate and other ingredients that are irritating to the tissues inside the mouth can be helpful.
What medications advised by my doctor?

  1. Anti-inflammatory (steroid) gels to reduce the inflammation. The main ingredient in this medication is triamcinolone.
  2. Vitamin B complex

Baby Sign Language

Teaching your baby sign language is simply an extension of his or her natural desire to communicate. Most babies naturally learn common signs and gestures such as waving bye-bye, holding up their arms when they want to be picked up, and opening their mouths wide when they want more food. Infants are able to understand language at a very young age; however, most babies don't begin talking until they are between 12 and 24 months old, and their vocabulary and ability to communicate remain extremely limited for months. This is because infants develop the fine muscles in their hands before they develop the facial and tongue coordination required for speech.

Syifa' at 5mo

Most babies are ready to learn sign language and are able to sign back at around 7 months of age; but each baby is different and some aren't ready until 9 or 10 months. You can start signing to your baby as early as you wish, but don't be discouraged if your baby doesn't respond. Many parents who start too early become bored or frustrated when their baby doesn't sign back and give up. You'll know your baby is ready for signing if he or she can wave bye-bye, hold a rattle, and if she drops something and then looks to see where it went. Once you do start signing, it may take weeks or even months before your baby catches on and begins signing back to you.

According to the studies, infants who learn sign language may actually begin speaking earlier. Infants in these studies started using expressive language at an earlier age, played more with words and ideas, and paired them up before they have even developed the oral motor skills required for speech. At 36 months, the signing babies in the study were speaking, on average, the equivalent of non-signing 47-month-olds; and by age 8, children who had signed as infants had stronger reading skills than those who did not. In addition, studies performed at the University of California found a connection between infant signing and higher IQ scores. They discovered a 12-point difference between a group of second-graders who had signed as babies and those who had not.

Sign language actually can be easily worked into your normal routine and you can learn right along with your baby. Start with simple, need-based, and commonly-used words such as milk, diaper, more, and eat.

These are the tips:
  1. Always pair the spoken word with the gesture.
  2. Always praise your child's attempts, and be excited and animated. If you are bored or frustrated, your child will be too.
  3. Show your baby the sign before and during an activity such as feeding or changing a diaper.
  4. Be consistent - use the sign every time you do the activity.
  5. Stick with one sign until your baby begins to sign it back to you, then choose another sign and start the process over again. But don't abandon the first sign - continue to use it frequently.
  6. Be patient - your child won't learn to sign overnight!
  7. Be flexible - your baby may invent a new sign once she understands that everything has a sign. Feel free to continue using it, or show her the correct sign. Either way, praise her for her efforts.

KL Bird Park

They called it "World's Largest Free-flight Walked-in Aviary". Is it really?? Dunno! =))

At first, when hubby offered to go there, I was like, bird park?? We came this far to see the birds? Okay.. nevermind... let's go. Actually it is kind of our impromptu visit to KL. The major missions were to attend our cuzin's wedding and to get the visa done at Wisma MCA where the lady interviewer was sooo serious macam nak telan org (Ming2 : Ini serioussss! -lagu feveret suhaib ni). Memang xkasi chance lgsng. But nevermind.. Let's excuse her for whatever reason..

Back to the story of the bird park. I thought it was something like the Zoo Negara with the tak cukup makan-animals (so sorry... no offense ya!), or the Butterfly Park and Bee Park of Cameroon's. Amazingly it wasn't that bad. I truly enjoy it (I mean, WE).

Let's see some of the wonderful moments.

With my PIL and Suhaib's cuzin (Nurhasanah). Thank you Ayah sbb sponsor tiket masuk =)). 15 inggit sorang woooo...

Birds usher. No regrettt!

Some of the birds.. They are all free flight.

Watching the birds show. Alala Syifa'! Tgk tu pipi dia...

Birds feeding. Totally amazing! But Suhaib takottt gilerr dgn Hornbill tu.

Suhaib on the camera. Cewah2...

Posing with the birds. Tersenget2 si Suhaib krn takutkan burung mulut besar (nama apa tah? I think it is woody woodpecker) yg diletak diatas riba daddy. They are all alive and tame one tau.. Soooo syok! But little Syifa dah tertido la.. Zzzzzzzzzzzz...........

Mummy on the pose.. Hihi suka sukinya saya.. ;p
