Hahaha... Mcm mana dia dapat idea tu tak tau la... Kadang kami dok usik dia panggil "Big Momma" sbb dia suka makan dan suka berlagak garang ;D.. tapi dia marah sungguh... "No big mama! Princess Yaya".., sambil buat muka garang ;P.

Motor skills: Dah nak macam abang Suhaib le.... tiap2 hari kawan dan lawan ;p dgn abg Suhaib... kasaq, kahaq... semua ada.... risau dah umi ni.... bila anak2 makin membesar, semakin susah juga nak manage... Sebut ttg manage anak2, nanti sambung celoteh di bawah, kerana sedikit beremosi.. :D

Sebut ttg manage anak2.. bukan setakat makan, pakai, basuh berak, basuh kencing (maaf kalau berbunyi kasar).. Yang lagi lagi penting, cabaran dan dugaan yang besar, ialah

Bagaimana nak didik mereka dgn akhlak yg baik dan lembut, dan mengikut sunnah Rasulullah SAW. Kalau mereka masih kecil, macam mana nak didik agar anak2 ni lembut hatinya, lembut tingkahnya.. Yelah budak2 besar ni kan banyak temper tantrum nya.. Walaupun mereka masih kecil, tapi cukup mencabar kesabaran, cukup mencabar untuk handle certain2 situasi. Tambah mereka masih dalam dunia masih tak mengerti apa2.. Macam mana nak buat mereka faham? mcm mana nak buat mereka dengar kata? mcm mana nak buat mereka hormat? mcm mana nak didik mereka secara lembut? mcm mana nak hentikan kemarahan mereka semasa kemarahan kita membuak2? Macam mana nak ajarkan baca al-Quran? yes.. Iqra.. tapi mcm mana? mcm mana nak guna teknik mengajar yg betul? mcm mana nak bersabar?- ni cukup susah.. sering kalah dgn nafsu dan syaitan. Macam mana nak elak dari bercakap & berbuat kasar dgn anak2? Macam mana nak terap mereka dgn akhlak Rasullullah?

Macam mana, macam mana, macam mana?...

Baby Sign Language

Teaching your baby sign language is simply an extension of his or her natural desire to communicate. Most babies naturally learn common signs and gestures such as waving bye-bye, holding up their arms when they want to be picked up, and opening their mouths wide when they want more food. Infants are able to understand language at a very young age; however, most babies don't begin talking until they are between 12 and 24 months old, and their vocabulary and ability to communicate remain extremely limited for months. This is because infants develop the fine muscles in their hands before they develop the facial and tongue coordination required for speech.

Most babies are ready to learn sign language and are able to sign back at around 7 months of age; but each baby is different and some aren't ready until 9 or 10 months. You can start signing to your baby as early as you wish, but don't be discouraged if your baby doesn't respond. Many parents who start too early become bored or frustrated when their baby doesn't sign back and give up. You'll know your baby is ready for signing if he or she can wave bye-bye, hold a rattle, and if she drops something and then looks to see where it went. Once you do start signing, it may take weeks or even months before your baby catches on and begins signing back to you.

According to the studies, infants who learn sign language may actually begin speaking earlier. Infants in these studies started using expressive language at an earlier age, played more with words and ideas, and paired them up before they have even developed the oral motor skills required for speech. At 36 months, the signing babies in the study were speaking, on average, the equivalent of non-signing 47-month-olds; and by age 8, children who had signed as infants had stronger reading skills than those who did not. In addition, studies performed at the University of California found a connection between infant signing and higher IQ scores. They discovered a 12-point difference between a group of second-graders who had signed as babies and those who had not.

Sign language actually can be easily worked into your normal routine and you can learn right along with your baby. Start with simple, need-based, and commonly-used words such as milk, diaper, more, and eat.

These are the tips:
  1. Always pair the spoken word with the gesture.
  2. Always praise your child's attempts, and be excited and animated. If you are bored or frustrated, your child will be too.
  3. Show your baby the sign before and during an activity such as feeding or changing a diaper.
  4. Be consistent - use the sign every time you do the activity.
  5. Stick with one sign until your baby begins to sign it back to you, then choose another sign and start the process over again. But don't abandon the first sign - continue to use it frequently.
  6. Be patient - your child won't learn to sign overnight!
  7. Be flexible - your baby may invent a new sign once she understands that everything has a sign. Feel free to continue using it, or show her the correct sign. Either way, praise her for her efforts.

Baby Tummy Time

There is recommendation for babies to be put to sleep on their backs in order to avoid from SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome). However, it will reduce the time for the babies spend on their tummies, which can mean delays in their development of certain motor skills such as learning to push up, roll over, sit up, crawl, and pull to a stand. Even, we as the parents could exacerbate these problems if most of the babies waking hours are restricted in a container such as swing, bouncy seat/car seat.

When the baby is on his tummy, he has to lift his head and push up on his arms to see anything. These could strengthen and developed his muscles. Instead, when he's on his back, he can see everything simply by turning his head from side to side. Spending time on his tummy also encourages our baby to practice reaching and pivoting.

In other word, motor control means a baby gains control of his head first, then his shoulders, then his abdomen, and so on down his body. According to the researched, we can begin tummy time as soon as we bring our baby home from the hospital by playing and interacting with the baby on his or her tummy two to three times a day for short intervals. While his neck strength is still limited, we can lay him (tummy down) on our chest so that he can raise his head to see our face. As he becomes accustomed to the position and enjoys playing this way (which also means his neck is becoming stronger) we can increase the length of tummy time.

Sedapnya tdo...

How to encourage him?
Get down on the floor and keep him company. He might have a limited view of the world when he's on his tummy - especially when he doesn't have the neck (like Syifa’ was) or arm strength needed to push up and look around. So join him on the floor and talk to him, shake his rattle, make funny faces, sing or play peek-a-boo. Try lying on our back and placing the baby on his tummy on our chest. Then he will lift his head and use his arms to try to see our face.

Place a mirror or an activity mat on the floor underneath the baby to provide some entertainment for him. There is also recommendation for placing toys in a circle around the baby so he has to reach in different directions to get at them or see them. This will help him to develop the muscles he needs to roll over, scoot, and crawl. Or have an older sibling or child play with the baby while on his tummy (but always supervised them- or the bigger child will sit on the baby- like Suhaib did on her adik Syifa- Syifa’s face turned red for half an hour! Huh~ seriau sungguh mummy..)

Be careful!
Make sure the baby isn't full, too hungry or tired when we try tummy time. When he gets upset, try to entertain him and see if he'll stay there a bit longer; but if he's really unhappy, pick him up and try again later. The baby may only tolerate tummy time for a few minutes at a time until he gets used to it.

In a nutshell
Tummy time is not only an important developmental opportunity for our baby. It is also a great time for us to bond and play together. So as a working mother let us schedule some quality tummy time into every day.
